XOXO

I have now made four layouts using the Sew Lovely collection by Carta Bella. I really like the way that this page turned out.  I have some hidden journaling included on the tag behind the photo.  I will say that at this point it is becoming a bit of a challenge since I have used up the more neutral papers that came in the pack. I hope to squeak one more layout from this collection pack and then call it done!

I love the little girl in this cluster.  I will always be my mother's little girl, no matter how old we both get! I couldn't resist adding this sweet pink bow.  I did add some Wink of Stella to parts of the flower embellishment, but it just did not photograph well.

The navy stitching really gave the chevrons a special touch.

I have a process video if you would like to take a closer peek.  If you have any questions or comments, please let me know.  I'd love to hear from you!

Beyond the Collection

I have met my goal of three pages with this paper pack!  Y'all, this is big for me.  I usually do a page or two with a paper pack and then I move on.  I may eventually get back to it, or it may get lost in my stash or the donation pile.  I'm really trying to get better about using my things while I still like them.  I will say that I have used my favorites in this collection.  I'm not sure how many more layouts I will squeeze out, but I made myself commit to one more, minimum.

I decided to make a companion page for the layout last week, except I wanted to go in a completely different direction.  I wanted this page to be a bit more reflective of my current style.  While I love last week's page for what it represented, it is not my favorite and that is totally okay.

I love the end result of this page.  I used most of the same papers and the flowers that I used on last week's page. I also pulled in some Maggie Holmes die cuts that were perfect additions for this page. The title is a mixture of a couple of my favorite alphas at the moment.  I just love the way that it turned out.

I added sequins and used the same word stickers which added the final touches of elegance that I was looking for in this layout.

I want more of the Maggie Holmes flowers.  I still have plenty from the first collection pack, but these are some of my favorite and I can see myself using these time and time again.

I have a process video if you are interested in taking a closer look.

Second Layout for Beyond the Collection

I'm halfway to my goal of at least three layouts using this collection!  I know that number sounds a bit low, but for me it's okay.  I only paid $6.00 for the collection pack, so to spend $2.00 on each layout is not too bad.  I will most likely challenge myself even further to get at least 4 if not 5 layouts, but I'm not going to stress if the ideas just don't come to me.  I've reached a point in my creating that it's okay to let something go...Let it Go, Let it Go... (sung in my best Elsa voice).

I love this flower cluster!  The gold glitter and foil combined with the black give this page an elegant feel.

The sequins helped to bring a little life to this cluster without being too much.  I wanted just a little something and these were the perfect touch.

If you'd like to take a peek at how this came together, I have the video below.  If you like it, please leave me a thumbs up or comment.  They make my day :)

I'm Twerking on the Crafty Maven channel

Twerk it Thursday...that name cracks me up everytime I see it.  Today TinaGale and I are up on the channel with out layouts.  We chose to work with the same sketch and it is really neat to see how we both changed it up a bit to meet our needs.  Here is the sketch that we chose to work with this week.

Here is the inspiration piece that we used this week as well.

I'm pretty happy with how this layout turned out.  Most importantly, this story has been told and hopefully my son learned a lesson.

I can be a bit sarcastic and this Amy Tangerine die cut worked well for the title of this layout.  I usually don't like to mix a bunch of fonts on one page, but these worked so well together that I had to put them on the page.  Here's a nice close up in which you can see the cracked screen.  The long Freckled Fawn arrow was perfect and I love that it points where the cracks are on the screen.

I decided that I could totally get away with using the zebra washi tape on this page as well.  It's rare  and I think that it relates well to destroying two phones in two weeks.

Here's the process video if you'd like to take a peek.

Beyond the Collection

I have a small problem, but I'm really working on fixing it.  I have a hard time passing up on scrapbook supplies, especially patterned paper when it is being clearanced out.  So I decided to challenge myself and use one of the collections and see if I can get minimum of three layouts completed.  I will bring in items from my stash, because apart from a sheet of stickers, I have nothing else in the collection.  Using my stash is a good thing as well!  The collection I am using is the Sew Lovely collection by Carta Bella.

I love the way this layout turned out.  This photo of my in-laws is perfect for these papers.  My MIL loved the color pink and roses, so this made these papers even more perfect.

I used some ric-rac and lace from my stash and sewed them onto the page.  I also stitched around a few of the paper layers for some additional texture.  Finally, buttons truly were the perfect embellishment and I stitched them down with some floss that matched the flowers.  Can you see the Heidi Swapp gold color shine on the roses.  I love the look of the gold mist on this page.

I have a process video if you would like to take a closer peek.

Time for Braces!

I remember having braces and how much it hurt after they were adjusted.  It's hard to imagine that teeth actually hurt, but they do!  Today's page is the before and after pictures of my sweet girl when she got her braces put on.  I am using September's Hip Kit and I love all of the Amy Tangerine Finder's Keepers line that is in the kit.  It is just so pretty and I love the cobalt blue!

I used my gelatos to make the background and used the Finder's Keepers paper as a guideline for choosing the gelato colors.  I love the enamel hearts in the line and would love to have more...they are so sweet!

I backed the acetate camera with white cardstock so that the gelato background didn't peek through.  It helps the camera to really stand out on the background.

I have a process video if you are interested in taking a peek.

Prayer is needed....

I don't think I ever fully realized just how scary it is to teach a kid how to drive.  Holy Smokes!!  I remember bits of when my mother taught me how to drive so I decided that I wanted to take a picture of my facial expression when Patrick started the car moving.  I took him to the quiet part of the neighborhood where I knew that he couldn't run over mailboxes, small animals or children for his first spin.  I'm not ready for this, but then again I wasn't ready for any of his other milestones either.  Where did my little guy go that loved to ride his bike down the driveway?

I used this Hip Kit to make this page along with some Daily Flash alphas from my stash. I love the Pink Paislee paper and knew that I wanted to cut it out and have it point to the photo.  I love the navy stitching on the triangles and I felt like it gave more movement to my page as well.

Y'all I can't play poker because everybody knows what is in my hand. Seriously! I am transparent, but at least you know that what you see is what you get. :)  I wish I could take credit for the title, but I can't...I posted the picture on one of the Facebook groups that I belong to and someone suggested it.  Thank you lovely lady (I can't find the post to credit you)!!  I love Carrie Underwood and this song made the perfect title for my layout.
